Author Patti Roberts Interviewed ME!

Patti Roberts,  Author of the Paradox  series, came up with a very different and interesting thing to do. She's interviewing Bloggers!  Patti felt that this was a nice way to say thanks to all the Bloggers out there for the work they do in supporting Authors. It was FUN, and I even felt kinda famous for a bit.

Now, I've only just started my blog, and it's extremely cool that she was still interested in interviewing me. So check out the interview below...

Paradox - The Angels Are Here

from Goodreads...
Nine hundred years ago, under the complete cover of darkness, the Grigorian army rose silently from their underground lair and attacked the Bulguardian Royal Palace. The bloody and violent battle between the two most legendary houses raged on. All but destroying the majestic Royal City of Altair.
It was not the first war that Juliette had endured between good and evil. And it most certainly would not be her last.
Today, a little girl's world is turned upside down by a visitor, the Angel of Death. She finds herself trapped in a nightmare, consumed by her paralyzing loss and overwhelming grief. Patti Roberts Interviewing Me:

Where were you born and where do you call home?
- I was born in Seoul, Korea. Now, I call Virginia home. This is where I'd like to spend the rest of my days...unless I end up in a tropical island somewhere

How long have you been blogging?
- As this interview is going on, I have been blogging for less than a day…around 12 hours ago.

What is the name of the book you most recently blogged about?
- Today I blogged about the Apocalypse Babes series by Bella Street.
I talked about the 3 books out right now: The Z Word (Apocalypse Babes Book 1), The X Factor (Apocalypse Babes Book 2), and iRobotronic (Apocalypse Babes Book 3).

What did you think about the covers?
- The covers are really beautiful and are a direct reflection of the strange, but familiar dystopian world that Seffy and her friends are transported/flung/blasted to in The Z Word…pink skies, glittering sand, zombies. Yes, time-travel for all you sci-fi fans, and yes again, the “Z” in The Z Word stands for “zombies”.

If you could ask the Author 3 questions what would they be?
- I’d ask Bella Street when did she first become interested in zombies? What made her decide to put zombies and romance in the same book? And, how many more books will there be in the Apocalypse Babes series?

Can you name one of your favorite chapters?
- No way! I couldn’t possibly decide a favorite chapter; I love the books as a whole…picking a favorite chapter? That’s just poppycock!

What was your most favorite character and why?
- In The Z Word, I’d say my favorite character would be Seffy. We experience things from her point of view and she goes through some disturbing stuff. She has dark moments of thought, and we are right there with her through it all. In The X Factor and iRobotronic, my favorite character was Trent. We really get to see deeper into his character, and I liked what he revealed. Let’s just say, “I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him”...ha-ha, Twilight reference.

If this book had a spin-off series, would you read the series?
- I most definitely would read a spin-off series. I am so in LOVE and OBSESSED with the Apocalypse Babes right now, you just don’t understand.

Was this a book you were asked to review or did you buy it?
- I actually just stumbled upon The Z Word while wandering on Goodreads. I kept seeing it pop up. I clicked on the book and there was mention of zombies…I love zombies. I wasn’t sure I liked zombies in a book, but I decided to check it out since it was a FREE e-book download on smashwords. I was a bit shocked at its GREATNESS. I can tell you right now, it’s not a horror novel, but more a paranormal romance. I wasn’t even asked to do a review, but felt I had to since I loved the book so much. I wanted to support Bella Street, as a new Author.

Have you written a book yourself or are you planning to in the future?
- I have no patience to do such a thing and I get easily distracted. I mean, the only way I could ever see myself writing a book is if I won the mega millions and could lock myself away. Then, maybe I could write a book. I get so crazy at times wanting things to look perfect that I would just keep re-editing, and it would take years and years.

What genre is your favorite and why?
- 100% paranormal romance. I think all girls love a good romance story, but with me loving all things supernatural, it’s just a natural choice. Everything is better when you add a little paranormal into the mix. Vampires, Weres, Shifters, Witches…I love them all. Everyone thinks I’m a bit weird...from my music, love of horror movies… Maybe that’s why I loved Bella Street’s books so much. She describes her books as “Romance with a touch of weird”. We both have a little weirdness going on.

If you were shipwrecked on a desert island what 3 book series would you want with you?
- I would want the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton, the Monére, Children of the Moon series by Sunny, and since it’s my current addiction, the Apocalypse Babes series by Bella Street.

Is there an Author that you would really like to meet?
- No, not really. It would be really cool to actually meet an Author, but I’m not dying for it. I feel like I already know a bit about the Authors just by reading their books. I get to see into a little piece of their mind in the books they write.

Do you prefer e-books, paperbacks or hardcover?
- I love my paperbacks…probably because they are less expensive than the hardcovers. I hate having to wait for paperbacks, but I can’t afford to buy those expensive hardcovers. I just discovered e-books a couple months ago when I discovered the free kindle and nook apps. I’ve only read the free e-books. I figured while I was waiting for my favorite Authors to come out with new books, I’d give e-books a shot. There’s some really good stuff floating around… I still prefer paperbacks to e-books because I want to be able to hold my books in my hand and put them on the shelf and look at all the pretty colors J  they're like art.

Where do you prefer to buy your books?
- I used to buy everything in the world from Amazon, but since I discovered Nook, I swing over B&N sometimes. I also use smashwords now that so many of the authors on Goodreads give out freebies there. Amazon is still my #1.

Have you ever read a book more than once?
- Oh, please…I’ve read every single book I own more than once, multiple times. When I’m done with a book and the Author hasn’t put out a new one yet, I get a little crazy waiting. I start from Book 1, work my way down the line and refresh myself…

Is there a particular movie or TV series that you preferred over the book version?
- I think the only books I’ve read that have been turned into movies or shows are Twilight and Vampire Diaries. I didn’t enjoy the Vampire Diaries books that much so I guess the TV series is better. Though, I think Damon in the books is more intense than on the show.

What book are you currently reading and in what format (ebook/paperback/hardcover)?
- I am currently reading Fox by Parrisha Martelly in e-book format. Parrisha is actually a new Author. Fox is her first novel, just released on August 3rd. She’s only 21 years old…I’m in awe of her right now.

What book do you know that you will never read?
- Any book dealing with Politics, Biographies, Sports, Home & Garden…don’t care to read. I will never read a Harry Potter book…I can barely get into the movies…I just can’t read the books. I can see the attraction to it, but no.

Are there any new Authors that have grasped your interest recently and why?
- Of course, Bella Street. The only reason I created a blog was so that I could talk about the Apocalypse Babes and how freaking awesome the series is. I can’t wait for KumBaYa Much and Bite Me to come out. It’s like Kylie Minogue’s song, “Can’t Get You Out of My Head”. I can’t stop thinking about the Apocalypse Babes J People are going to think I'm psycho.  Everyone needs to go download their FREE copy of The Z Word. It's currently FREE at smashwords, NOOK, and Kindle. WOOHOO!!! Go get your FREE copy right NOW!

Have you read a book that you would like to rewrite the ending of?
- The only book series that I have read that has ended is Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead.
The only thing I would change about that is to NOT have it end.  But, now we have Bloodlines so,
"It's not like it's the end of the world"  <--  Apocalypse Babes  fans know all about that...

What are your thoughts on book trailers?
- Everybody knows that book trailers suck! Or at least all the ones I see…The people who make book trailers should take a look at the fanvids people make. They look so much better than any book trailer I have ever seen. SHAME book trailer people…SHAME!

Do you have a favorite book cover - chose up to 3 if you like.
- Anita Blake series has some really awesome book covers. I love all the “instruments of death”…that’s what I call them anyway. I also really love Sunny’s Monére, Children of the Moon Series book cover. It's what attracted me to the books in the first place...really beautiful.

Do you ever blog in your PJ’s?
- Sure, I did this morning…for my very first blog ever! Why not? You can’t see me.

Sleep in or get up early?
- Sleep in…morning people give me the creeps. Why the freak are you so happy right now? *shivers*…gives me the heebedie-jeebedies!

Favorite colors?
-  black, red, and really digging hot pink right now. My nails always look like they are having a party

What are 3 items you never leave home without?
- phone, wallet, keys

What is your most favorite electronic gadget?
- My HTC EVO phone. You can do everything on this thing. Didn’t say I knew HOW to do everything, but I hear you can. I zombified myself with an app.

Favorite book character or film character crush. Yes you can pick 2 :)
- Book crush: Dante from Mona Lisa Craving by Sunny
- Film crush: Tom Hardy, the most beautiful man alive. Google him ...and you're welcome.

A character you love to hate.
- I almost said that I even love the bad guys…but then the “heifer goddess”, Aphrodite, popped into my head. She does Acheron wrong every time.
(Dark-Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon)

Cats or dogs?
- Dogs

White wine or red?
- Wine is nasty…

Coffee or tea?
- Coffee, with cake

Favorite food?
- Taco salad at the moment…

Vanilla or chocolate ice-cream?
- Vanilla

What is a movie or TV show that you watched recently and really enjoyed?
- TV series called Misfits (UK) – ADDICTED! Oh my goodness…I just had this conversation on Goodreads the other day. Season 1 and 2 are on HULU right now! Go watch it.    I   Simon.

Where can we STALK you?

Apocalypse Babes, I Can't Get You Out of My Head!
Therefore, I give you another Teaser...

Teaser 2:
↳ an excerpt from Ch. 6 of The Z Word (Apocalypse Babes)

“So, ladies...” They both turned with unsteady movements at the sound of Malone's voice. “Tell me why you think your clothes are old fashioned.” Seffy tossed him a sloppy smile. “I'm sure they were just the thing in their time.” “Their time,” he said. “As opposed to what time?” She concentrated to follow his line of thinking. “You know, modern times.” “Modern times?” “Is there an echo in here?” Addison burst out laughing. “Now times. Two thousand...two thousand...” Seffy tapped her forehead. “God, you're stupid. And deceitful and a liar and—” “Addison, what year is it?” Malone demanded. She glared at him for interrupting her. “It's 2006. Is everyone here as stupid as Seffy?” She snorted. “Stupid Seffy, Seffy Stupid—” “Hey!” Seffy protested. Her anger dissolved when she saw Malone slide out from under Lani and stand, a feral gleam in his eye. Someone hammered on the door. Seffy and Addison jumped in unison. Gareth groaned and forced his eyes open. Lani was dead to the world. Seffy watched with bleary eyes as Malone grabbed the rifle and stalked to the door. More knocks came, frantic. “Is anyone in there? Help us!” “Zombies!” breathed Addison. Seffy grimaced. “No sush thing.” Addison shooed her with her hand. “Oh go find your happy place!” “Help us, please! There are things after us!”Gareth struggled to his feet, his tired face tense. “Sounds like there's some breathers out there.” “More like a bunch of blood puppets,” Malone muttered. A long scream on the other side of the door went a long way to sober Seffy up. “Let them in, Malone!” “Brace yourselves,” he said in his harsh voice, then unlocked the door and pulled it open a crack. He stumbled backward from the force of several terrified people crashing their way in. The sound of nearby moaning sent shivers up Seffy's arms. She looked at the bedraggled newcomers. They didn't appear retro so maybe they were okay. “Don't let them in!” Addison yelled.

☣ Quote Friday: The Z Word (Apocalypse Babes Book 1)

Quote Friday #1

“Any blood puppets?” The girls looked at each other in confusion. Gareth cleared his throat. “He, ah, means has anyone been bitten?” They all shook their heads. “Good. Follow me.” “Said the spider to the flies,” Addison whispered. Seffy silently agreed. “Are you sure that trap door is strong enough to keep those things out?” Gareth asked. The moans, now frustrated and frantic, continued to sound above them. “If you'll follow me, I'll be shutting a metal door behind us and then we'll be completely safe.” “Oh, I feel so much better now.”

Quote Friday #2

“They have what's called the wandering sickness.” At her confused expression, he said, “Zombies.” She shot a look at Gareth. “But...zombies aren't real.” He grimaced. “Okay, lady.” “So what is this place?” Lani asked him, wrinkling her nose. “It's not at all feng shui. All the furniture is, like, facing evil.” “As I said, it's one of my...residences.” “Reminds me of one of those hatches on Lost,” Gareth whispered behind her.

Quote Friday #3

A blast hit the door. Seffy screamed as a cloud of tile and sheet rock dust rained down on her head. The door was wrenched open and someone yanked her over onto her back. “Seffy?” Malone's voice pierced her brain. “Are you a zombie?” She squeezed her eyes shut, wishing she could do the same with her ears. “Hangover,” she rasped. “Oh.” She heard him stand up. “False alarm. Your friend has just been in here yodeling down the porcelain canyon.”

"It's Not Like It's The End of The World"

Teaser 1:
an excerpt from Ch. 1 of The Z Word (Apocalypse Babes)

“Are you listening to me, Sef? This doesn't have to be awkward.” Seffy nodded reluctantly, wishing Verity had found a different tanning salon, a different hair stylist...a different guy. And it wasn't just Gareth who'd apparently hopped on the Verity train. Seffy's besties, Lani and Addison, also thought Verity was all that and a damn bag of chips. What's she got that I haven't? Wait, don't answer that. Verity shifted her feet, knocking over her can of Diet Rockstar. Seffy watched the liquid travel toward the outlet where the tanning bed was plugged in, trying to make sense of the panic burgeoning within her. There was something about the new girl that wasn't right—something almost threatening in her manner. Seffy played with the J on the zipper pull of her pink Juicy Couture hoodie, annoyed by her melodramatic thoughts. God, it's like I'm still in high school. I have got to get a handle on this. Besides, I need to get my head straight if I'm going to nail my audition in the morning. The thought of that appointment made her stomach cramp. Verity tilted her head, her blue eyes emphatic. “And we can be honest, right?” Yeah, if I were honest I'd tell her off. “Um, sure.” “The thing is, Gareth prefers a whole woman.” Seffy felt her mouth open. What the hell? The interloper opened her blue eyes wide, as if stating the obvious. Verity is whole? What does that make me? “I'm sure you knew that already, Sef, so c'mon.” She poked her with a French-manicured finger. “It's not like it's the end of the world.” Seffy pulled so hard on the J it snapped in her hand. She stared at the pink crystal encrusted charm, still stunned by the blonde's words. Not the end of the world? Gareth doesn't think I'm whole? Suddenly a flash of white light eclipsed Verity from sight. Before Seffy could react, a tremendous force hurtled her backwards, followed by a terrifying weightlessness which could only end badly. Seffy's head swam as she sailed through the atmosphere. The velocity of her descent increased and ground whooshed up to meet her. She threw out her hands to break her fall. Crunching her eyes closed, she let out a keening cuss word. The ground came closer still. WHUMP! Seffy landed hard, the breath rushing from her lungs. The impact made her eyes water. Coiling herself up in a ball, she gasped for air in between coughing spasms. After several excruciating moments, her lungs began to slowly inflate. What the hell happened? Did the salon explode? The pain ricocheting throughout her huddled frame made coherent thought difficult. With her eyes squeezed shut, she lay on the ground sipping the oxygen in measured amounts. It smelled funny. Like burnt ozone, sharp and metallic...with a hint of almond. Seffy finally unscrunched her eyes to get her bearings. The first thing she noticed was the sky. Pearly pink light shimmered overhead and the sun was a neon magenta color. Turning her head, she saw what appeared to be a tract of desert, with a bit of smoldering rubble in the distance. Where the hell was West Hollywood?

The "Apocalypse Babes" series by Bella Street

Author Bella Street has a great book series called the Apocalypse Babes. Book 1 is The Z Word and it totally got me hooked on the series. I stumbled across The Z Word while on Goodreads. I saw that it was a free read on smashwords and that it had ZOMBIES--which i absolutely L-O-V-E, so I decided to give it a shot. And WHOOOO...I am so glad I did. I was a bit skeptical about whether or not I would like this book because I've never read straight Horror, which I was assuming this was and I am into paranormal romance. I'm so glad I was wrong. Bella Street describes her books as "Romance with a touch of weird". That is the perfect description for the Apocalypse Babes series (because I have read all 3 books that are out right now). Who knew zombies and romance could fit?! This series is definitely PARANORMAL ROMANCE for anyone who is wondering.  The Z Word (Apocalypse Babes Book 1) is currently FREE on smashwords, NOOK, and kindle so you have no reason NOT to grab a copy A.S.A.P.  Visit www.bellastreetwrites.com to get to know more about Bella Street.

NOW...check out my reviews for the Apocalypse Babes Books 1, 2, and 3!

REVIEW OF THE Z WORD (APOCALYPSE BABES BOOK 1)

I enjoyed The Z Word so much that I just can't stop talking about it...
It starts with Seffy and her friends in West Hollywood 2006 one minute, and after an explosion of some sort, they appear in the Montana dessert, with pink skies and glittery sand. They are confused and there isn't anyone else around to fill in the blanks. They soon realize that they aren't the only ones around, there are dead people walking trying to take a bite out of them--ZOMBIES...wearing 80's clothing. Seffy believes she's dreaming, Lani is singing songs, Addison is making jokes and Gareth is using his zombie movie knowledge to try to get them through this strange world alive. Seffy and her friends are scared but are soon rescued by a man named Malone. The bunch are mistrustful of him, but what can they do? They don't know what's going on...and he seems to know what he is doing. He feeds them and takes them from safehouse to safehouse... You'll have to read the book to find out what happens. I STRONGLY recommend reading this book. As the story ended, i was left screaming What? What's gonna happen now? It's a good thing I had The X Factor (Apocalypse Babes Book 2) to read or else I'm pretty sure my brain would have fallen out.

REVIEW OF THE X FACTOR (APOCALYPSE BABES BOOK 2)

We start where we left off in The Z Word...the Apocalypse babes are still at the Compound in Montana. Seffy is strapped to an exam table. She is finally let out, but not by who she would have expected. She seems to be fading from the people she is closest to and getting closer to Trent...unexpected. She is having nightmares...or are they real? She wakes with scratches, bruises all over her body. Seffy's friends are acting strange and distant towards her. Seffy has gone through some very tough stuff, everyone seems to forget that. One person in particular seems to always be there, not the person she wishes it was...but he is always there for her.

I will say that Addison is my least favorite person out of the Apocalypse Babes. She doesn't seem to like Seffy at all...even from the very beginning. I have always hated her. I keep trying to see if she shows any king of love toward Seffy and I don't ever see it. She is definitely a Frenemy. TRENT TRENT TRENT...I am really loving TRENT right now. He shows a lot more of himself in The X Factor and he's a very like-able person. Definitely my new favorite person.

The X Factor ends with another feeling of WHAT? NO WAY..It ends like that? But luckily I've got Book 3 iRobotronic!!! You must read the Apocalypse Babes books...especially if u like Zombies or are into Paranormal Romance. U Will ♡ it!!!

REVIEW OF iRobotronic (APOCALYPSE BABES BOOK 3)

I am 100% Addicted...Oh My Goodness!!!
Seffy is transported back to WeHo 2006--it worked...but she understands very quickly that this is NOT the place she lived and that the whole "parallel universe" thing is real. Her moment of being overjoyed at being back to the present is short-lived when she realizes people are trying to KILL her!Seffy has to figure out a way to get all the things on her "list" and STAY ALIVE O_o In this alternate world, Seffy
There is loads of action in iRobotronic.
Seffy and Trent become closer from the fact that he is ALWAYS there (looking out for her)...even when she doesn't want him to be. I LOVE *Trent* and I think he is just the perfect guy for her. How can she even think about anyone else? Why can't she see it? I will take him if she doesn't want him :)

I will definitely be looking out for Books 4 and 5 of the Apocalypse Babes, called KumBaYah Much, and Bite Me, which should be out very soon :) Can't Wait! I am definitely OBSESSED...I am so glad i read this series!
